Hello, I’m Sara

Thanks for checking out the new Wandering Maranta website! I’m Sara, the owner and artist behind this creative venture. I started Wandering Maranta in late 2020, when my pandemic house plant obsession began to take over all the surfaces in my home. Macrame was a natural next step that became both a practical solution to my plant problem and a meditative art practice that helped me cope with the realities of quarantine. The knot tying never stopped, and while I continue to explore additional product lines, I’m thrilled to launch my official website with a selection of macrame products that started it all. I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to share more along this journey.

Where does the name Wandering Maranta come from?

  • Wandering: “a going about from place to place”, or for my purposes, the embracing of an adventurous spirit and love of travel.

  • Maranta: “a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae”, also known as the prayer plant, which symbolizes the reflective action of a daily prayer of gratitude.
