Hello, I’m Sara
Thanks for checking out the new Wandering Maranta website! I’m Sara, the owner and artist behind this creative venture. I started Wandering Maranta in late 2020, when my pandemic house plant obsession began to take over all the surfaces in my home. Macrame was a natural next step that became both a practical solution to my plant problem and a meditative art practice that helped me cope with the realities of quarantine. The knot tying never stopped, and while I continue to explore additional product lines, I’m thrilled to launch my official website with a selection of macrame products that started it all. I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to share more along this journey.
Where does the name Wandering Maranta come from?
Wandering: “a going about from place to place”, or for my purposes, the embracing of an adventurous spirit and love of travel.
Maranta: “a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae”, also known as the prayer plant, which symbolizes the reflective action of a daily prayer of gratitude.
